..well my sister was glued to the tv the other day and was watching Miss Universe... i'm not really into these stuff but i was surprised when i heard Ms. Philippines being called for an award...

Ms. Lia Andrea Ramos got the Miss Photogenic Award.. well that's better thasn actually going home with nothing...

...still i hope Ms. Japan brought home the title...

...its been too long since an Asian (as far as i remember, i told you i don't watch this show) got the Miss Universe title...

what's for today?

i just had my lunch with lei today... we talked 'bout who we think decides or what's the system (if any) in canteens or "carinderias" which viands to serve/cook for the day...

you see.. at the office, everyday.. at approximately 9:10AM, someone brings in the menu for the day... it contains a list of all the viands and "merienda" plus the add-ons (i.e. soup, soy sauce, chili, everything)...

i look at it everyday... and choose the same thing basically bout 3 to 4 times a week (why not 5? since its a 5-day work-week? - more on that later)...

• 1 meat
• 2 veggies (a pseudo-DIET!)
• 1.5 rice (1 for me 1/2 for lei)
• 2 bananas
• 2 plain soups
• 1 soysauce (bout 2 tablespoons)..

that's it.. then you play the waiting game - wait for your order to be delivered which is at about 11:20AM ...

lei told me that prolly every evening, the cooks gather around a fish bowl filled with a list of possible viands to be served the following day... like a raffle type contest if you will... hmmmm.... i think otherwise..

well for one i think they consider the viands which they can recycle..( haha)... no, just kidding.. i personally think they do this on a weekly basis, you know the choosing...

well restaurants have a fixed menu but these "carinderia" type outlets dont have that luxury... they may have regular daily line-ups but who decides "mongo" over "chopseuy" or "menudo" over "afritada"..

so have you thought about this?

well it doesn't matter anyways, they all taste the same... and so long as its not pansit...

yesterday me and lei got to chat with 3xi and yani (lei's sisters)... well its really your usual chat, IM,webcam and stuff... lol..

just so happened that we spent about 3 hours chatting at the cafe... haha... i get to face a computer more than 3 hours everyday (maybe even double that)... but it was my first time to actually rent a pc for 3 hours straight.. haha... o well...

sadly though... lei's sisters didnt have access to a webcam at the time.. so it was just a one-way thingy.. owell maybe next time.. :)

a 3rd pirate?

...work was suspended yesterday around lunch time... but as good employees (the same goes for students..) as we are, instead of staying home and watch the news or listen to DZRH 'bout the storm like what our lolos and lolas do... me and lei opted to go and watch a movie...

i wanted to see Pirates of the Carribean, well after hearing that it pushed Spiderman off the #1 box office list... the movie opened to a record $134 million breaking the previous record by Spiderman in 2002 with $114.8 million... i predicted this you know (yah right)

i still haven't seen Superman Returns (yawn)... and i guess i'll just wait for the DVD copy... i'm not really a big fan of the guy in red undies or any DC superhero for that matter.. maybe except for Batman (he should move to Marvel or Image haha).. hmm.. i find these DC guys kinda "soft" for superheroes... well that's my personal view anyways..

back to pirates...

i liked the first installment of the film and the 2nd never disappointed... lei well hmm.. said its "bitin" but hey this isnt an ordinary film.. only ordinary films (read: boring) do that... (sorry labs.. hihi)...

...so yada yada yada blah blah blah.. this blog isnt a movie reviews blog you know.. i just like the film PERIOD! (if you dont like it make your own blog)...

..oh for those of you who havent watched Pirates 2 yet, well in the end Johnny Depp gets eaten by the KRAKEN sea monster, Keira Knightley is in love with Jack/Johnny (or William/Orlando- i guess this will be settled in the 3rd movie) and Geoffrey Rush (Capt Barbossa in the 1st movie) makes an appearance vowing to help look for Jack (who got eaten.. need i remind you of that)

and "oh" again... i'll take my Php130 to any pirate movie than a guy flying in red briefs anyday... (add to that the popcorn.. Php70, soda... Php25.. the fare... )...
